Contract Negotiations to Continue Every Day Next Week
The support and strength you are showing in the stores was felt every day this week at the bargaining table. We have been telling Kroger that we will not settle for anything less than a fair contract that recognizes our hard work and the sacrifices we have made to keep Kroger successful. We know they have been getting the message in the stores that we are willing to do whatever it takes.
This week we discussed a number of issues, from seniority and paid time off to health insurance. We will continue to make it clear to Kroger that we work hard and we have earned accessible and affordable health care. Over the years, we have fought for and earned all of the benefits we have. At times, we have worked with the company when necessary to keep them successful. We will continue to work with them, but we will not give up what we have earned.
As we head into the final week before our current contract expires on October 7, it is more important than ever that everyone participates in the activities and actions we will be holding at stores and in our communities. Kroger needs to keep hearing loud and clear that we are willing to do whatever it takes to get the fair contract we have earned. As they hear from us at the bargaining table, we know you will continue to echo our message in the stores. We will continue to keep you updated every step of the way.
In Solidarity,
The 2017 Kroger West Virginia Bargaining Committee: Wayne, Billy, Tami, Allen, and Victoria
