Workers at the Keurig Dr Pepper warehouse in Fairmont, West Virginia, unanimously voted to join Local 400 yesterday.
Local 400 has represented drivers and other workers at Keurig Dr Pepper for years and existing members provided support for the organizing campaign.
The Fairmont warehouse workers wanted the benefits of the contract covering their Keurig Dr Pepper sisters and brothers. They had grown frustrated with their supervisor handling vacation requests in an arbitrary fashion, being subject to his whims rather than a fair process, and not receiving perfect attendance bonuses they had earned. They all signed Local 400 cards, submitted them to management on December 22, 2022, and held their election this past Monday.
By voting yes, the Fairmont warehouse workers are now covered by the collective bargaining agreement Local 400 negotiated for Keurig Dr Pepper drivers. Its benefits include a fair and orderly process for determining vacation days, comprehensive health care coverage, and significant wage increases as of May 16, 2023.
“I want to congratulate our new members at Keurig Dr Pepper,” said Local 400 President Mark P. Federici. “They can now enjoy the same protections, fair treatment, and compensation as their sisters and brothers. We don’t leave any of our fellow workers behind and I couldn’t be more pleased that they’ve now joined their colleagues in empowering themselves through Local 400 representation.”
