Following votes taken in stores this week, UFCW Local 400 members working at Kroger under the West Virginia contract voted 596–265 (69%) to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement.
Kroger’s original offer was overwhelmingly rejected by members, and the new agreement ratified today includes many improvements, including:
- More money invested in the contract, including wage scales
- Improved hours-based pay scales with protection from pay reductions
- No health and welfare cost increases for the life of the contract
- Additional opportunities for paid sick time
- Guarantee no union members’ hours will be reduced by vendors and temps
The new three-year agreement takes effect retroactively February 25, 2024 and expires January 30, 2027. Download the highlight sheet to review an outline of all changes to the contract.
