LANDOVER, Md. (February 10, 2025) – Today, three United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) local unions announced their endorsement of Aisha Braveboy for Prince George’s County Executive and Shayla Adams-Stafford for Prince George’s County Council, District 5.
The three unions – UFCW Local 400, UFCW Local 27, and UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO – represent thousands of union members in the county working in a wide variety of industries, including grocery, retail, health care, cannabis, and more, as well as the public sector.
“We have had a long and rewarding relationship with Aisha Braveboy going back many years. As State’s Attorney and member of the House of Delegates, we could always count on Aisha to be there when our members needed her,” said UFCW Local 400 President Mark Federici. “Shayla Adams-Stafford has been a strong advocate for working families over her career, and we look forward to partnering with her to address the needs of our hard-working members. We know these two powerful candidates will be unflinching champions of UFCW members and all working families in Prince George’s County and we look forward to their leadership.”
“UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO is proud to stand alongside our union siblings in endorsing Aisha Braveboy for Prince George’s County Executive and Shayla Adams-Stafford for County Council,” said Gino Renne, president of Local 1994 MCGEO. “Aisha has steadfastly advocated for working families in the County, fighting for fair wages, pushing for strong labor protections, and endorsing policies that uplift our communities. And Shayla is a strong proponent of organized labor, including supporting Project Labor Agreements that ensure high employment standards for taxpayer-funded projects. Now, more than ever, we need leadership that puts workers first, and we believe Aisha Braveboy and Shayla Adams-Stafford are the right choice to move Prince George’s County forward.”
