ROCKVILLE, Md. (March 25, 2025) – Today, United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 400 Union announced workers at Green Goods cannabis dispensary in Rockville, Md. have voted to ratify their first union contract.
The contract includes several highlights, including:
- Guaranteed wage increases over the life of the agreement
- Retirement investment option
- Minimum hours of work for full-timers and minimum hours per shift for part-timers
- Secured daily cash tip distribution
- Paid breaks
- Paid holidays & PTO
- Paid bereavement leave
- A grievance procedure to resolve disputes with management
- Health & safety commitments from the employer
Ballots were cast Monday and workers voted unanimously to approve the collective bargaining agreement. The workers unionized with UFCW Local 400 last year.
The Green Goods staff are part of a growing wave of cannabis dispensaries in the region that have recently unionized, including: the Apothecarium locations in Burtonsville, Md. and Cumberland, Md.; Sweetspot in Olney, Md.; Story Cannabis locations in Hyattsville, Md. and Mechanicsville, Md.; Potomac Holistics in Rockville, Md.; Zen Leaf in Germantown, Md. and Zen Leaf in Towson, Md.; PharmaCann Verilife Dispensary in Westminster, Md.; and MaryMed, LLC in Hurlock, Md., among others.
