We have continued to bargain with Kroger over Zoom, with talks facilitated by a federal mediator. Scheduling conflicts with Kroger and the mediator have meant we have only been able to negotiate for three days since your contract expired on June 6.
This has made progress slow. Starting tomorrow, we will be bargaining with Kroger every day until the end of this week. We are hoping that being able to meet three days in a row will result in mix more substantial progress toward the fair contract you deserve.
Our goal remains to get a fair deal that rewards you for the hard work you have done, which has resulted in a 19% jump in first quarter same-store sales over last year.
The sacrifices we have made, and the record sales and profits we have made Kroger, show we are owed:
- Wages we can live on
- Schedules we can depend on
- Healthcare we can afford
- Retirement we can count on
