Negotiations on our next West Virginia Kroger contract are still ongoing. Progress has been slow as all meetings are being held over video conference with the assistance of federal mediators. We remain far apart on many issues, including seniority rights, wages and healthcare benefits, but will be meeting several days next week in an attempt to get closer to a fair deal.
While we continue to work at the table, we also need to show Kroger that we are willing to do whatever it takes to get a fair contract. Join us on Thursday, October 1, for a car caravan protest to demand a fair contract at Kroger. With the pandemic continuing to take lives, we are holding socially distanced protests using car caravans to keep everyone safe. Join us at a store near you:

The current contract is on extension until October 17. All of the benefits and protections of your current union contract remain in place during the extension.
In addition, this week, we held an important vote on changes to your pension plan. The votes were tallied on Friday, September 25 over Zoom video conference so any member could witness the final count. Members voted overwhelmingly in favor of the proposed changes. Since this is a national pension plan, other union locals will also be voting on the changes and the nationwide results will be announced once all locals have voted. The pension vote was ONLY on changes to the national pension plan and is separate from the rest of your union contract.
As negotiations move forward, we are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Sign up for text alerts and never miss an update. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or talk to your union representative.
