As we approach the one year anniversary of bargaining with Kaiser Permanente management next month, they are continuing to send the message that they are not taking our bargaining seriously. The team they are sending to meet with us does not include the people at national headquarters who can make the decision to give us the pay, benefits, and working conditions we need in order to provide the high quality patient care our members expect and deserve.
We will be meeting on Thursday, September 7 at 8:00 p.m. over Zoom to update you on what has been happening at the table and to discuss an action plan to put pressure on management to get serious and show us the respect we deserve and have earned.
We are calling on Kaiser management to:
- Send decision makers to the table – we need the people we are bargaining with to be authorized to make a deal
- Make realistic economic proposals that get us the wages, health and welfare, paid time off, and retirement benefits we deserve – hiring and retaining the best means providing the best wages and benefits
- Agree to give us the same benefits that other unionized KP therapists have – patient management time and language on evening and weekend work is standard and we expect it in MAS
We believe that with people empowered to make decisions about these things at the table, we can still reach a fair deal with Kaiser Permanente, but we are done waiting for them to do the right thing. It is time to push them to act. Join us on September 7 at 8:00 p.m. to hear the full update and how we can all work together to get the respect we deserve.
