On Sunday, UFCW Local 400 members working at Macy’s voted 29–11 in favor of ratifying a new union contract.
The new three-year agreement runs from April 28, 2024 through April 24, 2027 and contains many changes over the previous contract, including:
- Wages will now be the Macy’s Universal Base Rate increase with a $0.35 per hour floor with a potential for higher increases
- 10% of associates are eligible for Top Performer status, a performance-based appraisal system that currently provides an additional $0.30 per hour
- Associates will be eligible for the Macy’s Path to Growth incentive plan which awards stores that meet goals with seasonal bonuses
- Associates are eligible for advanced educational opportunities through the Macy’s Guild Education benefit
- The agreement provides additional safety language and guidance on encountering unsafe conditions
- Enhancements to Paid Time Off
- Enhancements to Holidays
- Company to post work schedules two weeks in advance instead of three
